Would I be safe from viruses if I use a copy of Windows on a different hard drive on my computer and test viruses on that?

I hope you relalize and know that what you’re doing is a very serious business, or activity.

If you want to keep your primary hdd safe from virus then I suggest you to instead of dual booting your sytem, you should create and use a Virtual Machine (VM) of your desired OS.

You can isolate your VM within your computer, but, not your secondary hdd from your primary hdd.

Lastly, be careful while dealing with Malwares, virus, of any other kind of security threats.
