I think that I have a shortcut virus, what should I do?

Dear buddy,

Please follow the steps below to resolve the issue:
  1. Firstly, stop using the computer which you think has been compromised (stop transferring files from your system)
  2. Now, then go to Bitdefender, or Avast, or Kaspersky website and download their free antivirus product installer (it’ll be an online installer, hence, the whole operation will be online)
  3. Then, do a full scan and rootkit scan from your newly installed AV, and delete all the threats it will find (usually it automatically delete threats with your intervention, but, still if your intervention is required then please do so)
  4. Finally, after the removal of all the threats by the Antivirus, Reboot your system.

Now you have a cleaner system. But, there’s a decision you have to take about the newly installed AV program you’ve installed for threat removal, whether you want to use it in your system, or not; if not, then you may uninstall it.

Also, regarding your Pendrive/flash drive, you must format it, and then use it normally.

Love to help :)
Thank you.
